Little Sparks: Igniting STEAM in the Early Years

Ruth Borg has been dedicated to early childhood education for over 30 years. She is deeply passionate about children's language development, storytelling, and the integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) practices in the early years. Ruth was a founding member and kindergarten educator at It-Tajra University Play School of Malta, and later continued her journey at Dingli Primary School. Committed to lifelong learning, she pursued and completed a Master’s degree in early childhood education at the University of Sheffield, carrying out qualitative research about the importance of narrative in a bilingual context. Ruth currently works as an Early Years Educator and also lectures part-time with a private institution. Her enthusiasm for early education remains as strong as ever, and she continues to research with her young teammates in class and enjoys sharing her expertise with fellow educators and the wider community.
